Thinking of Joining Us?

We are an international group of active researchers interested in sustainable ageing. Membership of ISARG is thus reserved for active researchers in the field of sustainability-ageing.

From 2026, researchers can join ISARG by appointment following nomination by an active member. Nominees are only accepted into the group if at least three other members support their nomination.

What Informs a Nomination

  • The nominee must have collaborated with a member of ISARG on research, resulting in at least one publication in a journal or publisher indexed in Web of Science or Scopus.

  • The nominee is seen as an active independent researcher or policy advocate in the field of sustainability and ageing. An “independent researcher” is an individual who has led at least one relevant research project and served as a lead/corresponding author of a minimum of two publications indexed by Web of Science or Scopus over the past three years. A “policy advocate” is an individual in industry or outside academia with an interest in sustainability and healthy ageing. He or she should have a track record of engagement with policymakers and be able to help implement ISARG’s pieces of research evidence and interventions. In partnership with policy advocates, ISARG ensures its research promptly informs policy.

How Fellows Invite Collaborators

Direct Approach

Fellows email members to invite them to join their projects. Members are more likely to accept your invitation if you share a protocol of your project with them.

Indirect Approach

Fellows email their project proposal to the global or regional coordinators and ask them to invite potential collaborators on their behalf. This approach is more successful since the global and regional coordinators better understand members’ research interests.
